These and the similar style yamaha subs were and are some ofthe best HTIB subs they made, they didn't go super low but they could satisfy someone for a few years and could be reused for a bedroom system. The subs and receivers often outlast the speakers, since people just upgrade the speakers and still keep the receivers and subs till they die.
